Here comes the sun

It's almost here...SPRING! Hallelujah. It's been a long, cold, lonely winter:) Not really, but I do love the Beatles. This has been a VERY busy month. We have done lots of traveling and had a house full of visitors. So much fun. Here's what we have been up to since my last post:

We had a lovely Valentine's dinner at Ruth Chris.
We traveled home for the Ole Miss basketball game. Poor little Annie became sick as soon as we arrived in town. We had to wake up Saturday morning and take her to see Dr. Mark for a shot!

You know she's sick when she is willingly in her cage.
My parents and sister came to town for the weekend. We are in the market for a new couch so we decided to do some shopping. This is what I put up with-shesh. Thank goodness for my mother.

We cheered on the rebels as they played Auburn! Hopefully we are back on track now:) Would love to see our rebels in the tournament.

..And last but not least while in Senatobia, my grandmother and I got out to do a little shopping around town. We had lunch at Coleman's (my personal favorite lunch spot-best bbq!) and then went to a new store in town called Miller's Station. It was very senatobia-esq if if I do say so myself!  Local vendors have different booths of neat gifts and home decor. I had to buy a little something for myself:

...A little piece of home...

And tomorrow begins March. Happy Spring!!

A Weekend in Hattiesburg!

Let me just start by saying some of my favorite people in the world live in Hattiesburg! We have been saying for a while now that we needed to make a weekend trip there. This past weekend we did just that!

First we dropped Annie off to be a VIP for the weekend at the vet where Jim works. She was treated like a queen :-)

Her suite even had a personal tv!

On our way to dinner, we had to make a special visit to the Jones' home! Scot and Leigh Ann moved to Hattiesburg when I was in tenth grade but I will always consider him to be my youth minister (Even if he's not as young as he used to be-haha sorry scot!!) We had a wonderful visit. I told Leigh Ann I hope I'm like her when I'm a mom-seriously the best mom ever! Not to mention the cutest house in Bellegrass.
Are those not some of the cutest boys you have ever seen?!

Love these two! What a lucky person I was to have such great people invest in my life when I was a youth! It makes all the diference in the world.

After our visit-we headed to the coast for a wonderful dinner at Mary Mahoney's
Jim and I at dinner.

Sunday we visited Jordan and Jim's church, Temple Baptist, which was wonderful! We even got to visit with Jordan's sweet in-laws. We had such a great weekend and the Woods were wonderful hosts.  We are so thankful to them for having us as their guests. We can wait for them to come to Jackson so we can return the hospitality!

Thankfully, we beat most of the bad weather and made it back to Brandon safely. We were also so relieved to hear our special friends were safe as well. Prayers to all the people in Hattiesburg.

My best friend! I miss you already!

February Fun!

We have had such a super busy winter! Usually this is such a boring time of year-All of the fun has made my least favorite season go by in a flash. I'm already looking up swimsuits (while working out, of course) and new flip flops to order for spring. Some of what we have been up to the past two weeks:

Jim ran the hot chocolate classic to support the Rankin Country School District-the best district in the state:) I'm partial of course.

Annie is getting ready for Valentines with her hot pink flower collar. I mean seriously isn't she the cutest?!

This is what recruiting looks like to a wife. Seriously, so glad it's over. But it was a very exciting day to say the least-So proud of the REBELS! I'm always proud, though:-)

Ginny and I (well mainly ginny-I just helped!) made this awesome bread pudding for the superbowl party. Go us:-) Who would have ever though we would be so domestic?

..Such a random blog post. On another note, We finally made it official by joining a church here in Brandon that we have been visiting for a while! I'm so excited! We can't wait to get more involved.

Welcome to February, the last month of winter-Hallelujah!
