Easter 2013

I know I have said it many many time but Easter is my favorite holiday! Without this holiday, we would be nothing. We had the most wonderful worship service this morning at our church filled with beautiful music and a meaningful message! It was definitely the highlight of our holiday.

I have to admit I was nervous this would be a difficult holiday for us. This is the first time we haven't been able to be at home with all our family for a holiday. Being married to an accountant means you can't go anywhere the last weekend of a quarter! However thanks to some great visitors, we had a wonderful weekend! When you can't go home to your family, just have your family come to you:-)

On Thursday, my mom, sister, and grandmother came to stay. We did lots of shopping and apartment hunting for my sister who will be moving here in May.

Everyone was excited to see Aunt Becca! I was sad to see them leave Saturday morning, but it gave me time to get things ready for Easter lunch. Even though it would just be Jim and me, I wanted to do a special lunch. I decided to cook a turkey, hashbrown casserole, carrots, rolls, and a strawberry dessert. I think all went well.

Early morning cooking. Complete with all the necessities-the Mrs. Hudson cookbook and my roasting pot. Two of my favorite items I received at my kitchen shower when I got married!

What's Easter without a set dining room table?! Easter was my nana Joy's favorite holiday. We LOVED to decorate her dining room for lunch, so I get it honestly. I love that I get to use a lot of her stuff in my own home now.

One of my precious students gave me this sweet McCarty bunny! It was perfect for my table.

Here's the china once again! I could use this everyday. Cups and saucers are one of my favorites-so dainty!

Is there anything more beautiful than gold rimmed china and flatware.

Easter has Peters and McCarty written all over it!

All ready for worship!

A little easter photo shoot with our Annie.

Jim's parents came into town this evening so we have had a fun filled day! It has been such a blessing to stop and remember the sacrifice that was made for us. I hope you and your family had a great holiday!

He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.

Spring Break Part 2

The last part of my spring break was spent in tobie town. It was such a nice visit with my family, and I loved seeing familiar faces:) I was able to do lots of shopping at my favorite local stores as well which is always a treat!!

Thursday night I met up with these special girls! We had a great dinner at Windy City in Hernando. We don't get to see each other as much as we used to so I was very excited! I miss having all my friends live close by SOO much. Looking forward to a beach trip with them soon:-)

Annie LOVES to be at NeNe and PoePoe's house. This is her favorite spot (on my parent's sunporch.) She loves to watch the golfers!

Friday night, we met up with our family friends,The Woods, for dinner at the Boiling Point. This is a picture of all the girls with Marshal! He's a ladies man.

It was a great spring break. I feel well rested and ready to greet my sweet 4th graders in the morning! (not to mention, Easter is next week! ha)

Spring Break Part 1

We have begun spring break-finally!! I thought this week would never come. Come Saturday, I'll be ready to head back to work. However, right now I'm thoroughly enjoying my time off. This break started off with lots of BABY fun!

Last week, we were finally able to share the news that Jim and I are going to have a niece or nephew! Lauren and Josh are expecting their first baby to arrive in September. We are so thrilled for them and can't wait to be apart of this special time. They told us the news back in January, but we were sworn to secrecy until March. They made such a cute surpise of the announcement. They wrapped up a late gift for Mrs. Pam to open that was supposedly from the Ireland trip back in November.

Not quite a gift from Ireland, but so much better! Josh videotaped the announcement, but (because I know you are reading this) he better not share it anywhere! I sound ridiculous.

NEXT- On Friday, We welcomed the Woodward babies into the world. Praise the Lord for a healthy delivery!

Charlie and Lawson-Sweet baby boys.

We couldn't wait to visit with our favorite mom!
She looked beautiful and we were so proud of her! Can't wait for those precious babies to come home soon.

Other than all that exciting news, I have spent the past couple of days doing things around the house. Organizing my closet, cleaning my house and baseboards, and other fun stuff! Today, we had our new couch delivered:

Yay no more microfiber! I'm excited to have a plush couch with lots of pillows (don't worry-I'm getting those awful brown pillows that came with the couch covered soon!)

Tomorrow, Jim will be headed out of town for a business trip and I bet you can guess where I will be headed. North to Senatobia! It will be nice to spend some time with my parents and grandmother (Becca is frolicking around Disney.) I'm also looking forward to seeing some of my girlfriends!

Today, I'm off to buy some make-up and see a movie! Happy Spring BREAK!

Baby Becca turns 20!

We traveled to Starkville (yes I went to starkville-can you believe it?) only to celebrate baby Becca's big 2-0! It's hard for me to believe that she is only one year away from being 21. Scary thought!! I guess since I am 6 years older, I have always treated her like I was her second momma. We have always joked that I am a lot stricter than our Mom. Maybe I will lighten up someday when I have my own:) Some pictures from Becca's birthday dinner:
